Grace Chapter Committees

ADMINSTRATIVE COMMITTEE: To assist the Worthy Matron, Treasurer and Secretary with administrative duties when needed.

  • AUDIT COMMITTEE: Whose duty it shall be to audit the books of the treasurer and secretary every six months and report their finding to the chapter in July and January and to perform such other duties relative to the finance as the chapter may require of them from time to time.

    BUDGET COMMITTEE: To prepare an annual budget for the maintenance and operation of the Chapter. It shall be the duty of the committee to meet quarterly during the months of May, August, November and February. Make a full assessment; submit in writing their finding with recommendations to the Chapter at the following meeting.

    COMMITTEE OF CHARITY**: To receive all such written appeals of the sick, distressed that require relief. See that each request has been properly acted upon by the chapter in which the indigent member or members are in good standing. Plan and coordinate activities to assist charitable organizations in the community and provide a report to the Chapter. Inform the chapter of sick and distressed members. Arrange for appropriate condolences for members. Also, perform acts of kindness to those in need. Cheer - inform chapter of achievements and milestones of members.

    COMMUNITY RELATIONS COMMITTEE: Be responsible for planning and managing special projects that are meant to bring positive publicity towards the chapter and improve the chapters profile in the community.

    HEALTH AND WELLNESS COMMITTEE: Provide educational information or activities to the Chapter on a monthly basis regarding Spiritual, Mental and Physical Health and Wellness.

    HISTORIAN COMMITTEE: Maintain the historical files of the chapter. Keep material produced by the chapter throughout the year. Document chapter achievements through the year. Keep the history files organized. Provide historical information to members as needed. Periodically, write articles for the newsletter about the history of the chapter.

    HOSPITALITY COMMITTEE: To plan and coordinate repasts for the Chapter and welcome visitors to the Chapter.

    INVESTIGATION COMMITTEE*: The committee consisting of three (3) members shall conduct an investigation of a petitioner and make a report at a regular meeting.

    JOINT VENTURES COMMITTEE: To plan, prepare and execute for the housing for the Annual Joint Banquet, Annual Joint Thanksgiving Basket donations as well as coordinate with appropriate members as approved by the Worshipful Master of Triangle Lodge on other Chapter approved joint activities.

    JURISPRUDENCE/BY-LAWS COMMITTEE: To consider all questions of Masonic law arising from the business coming from a Regular or Special stated chapter meeting. To review all proposals to amend the Chapter By-laws. To review the Chapter By-laws for any inconsistencies or conflicts with the Grand Chapter Constitution and report to the Chapter in the month of December, whether our Bylaws are in proper order. To review the Grand Chapter Proceedings for Chapter information accuracy and unfinished business and report to the Chapter any findings.

    RITUALIST/MENTORSHIP COMMITTEE: Provide easy and step-by-step learning to Newly Initiated Members as well as all chapter members; understand the Order of the Eastern Star, Prince Hall Affiliation's biblical, historical and symbolic meanings and tenets.

    SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE: To establish criteria and guidelines for scholarships to be awarded to graduating high school seniors students in a high school in the Commonwealth of Virginia on behalf of the Chapter.

    WAYS AND MEANS COMMITTEE: To provide guidance and oversight to special project committees and make recommendations to the chapter on opportunities that would raise revenue. To ensure methods and resources are available to accomplish an end, especially to meet expenses.
